It is an album that fits the description of melodic hardrock or AOR if you like that kind of description better. Catchy rock with strong choruses and great vocals, the production is also excellent with a melodic and polished sound while still keeping a fairly heavy and powerful sound. The playing time is very sensible over the ten tracks; the variation is okay for the length with many speedy and catchy hit songs. It is songs that are easy to like and fans of the genre will most likely do so, but you can’t say that it is particularly original which is often the case when it comes to the melodic rock and hard rock genre.
Not original perhaps but it is quite excellent with great tracks and melodies, some choruses that are just brilliant. The only flaw I see is some strange sounds in the chorus of second track Tick Tock that is slightly annoying and somewhat ruins an otherwise brilliant track. But you quickly forget that when Firefly starts, that is a kickass song and there are some more of those, besides Firefly I also think that the sixth track Not Alone is worth mentioning as another brilliant track. But all the tracks are good and enjoyable; this album should go down really well with those who like the AOR genre.
There has been some great AOR this year with Alchemy, Cats in Space, JD Miller and a few more – this album is right up there with them among the best of the year. I recommend that you take a closer look at this album; there is a very high probability that you will like it. And I would also claim that it is an album that cements the position of Art Nation as one of the finest new AOR bands that last decade. So I can just tip my hat and conclude that this is a great album, and I really like how they name the albums with titles of equal name an ends – I wonder if they will continue, I hope they do. Don’t miss this album, it is great!
