Italian sinners Midnight Sin are back with a new offering, a digital only release that features two tracks they have written themselves and a cover of Rollin’ Stones’ song Satisfaction. A short EP that follows a few years after the debut album Sex First that wasn’t the most fascinating album I have ever heard, perhaps they are trying to remain visible to the people or something. Will it be an EP that sets up good expectations for a possible upcoming album? Well, I have given it some time and come up with an answer.

First, let me copy-paste what I wrote in the description of the debut album: Hardly innovative, they would have shown a fresh perspective if this was released in the seventies or something. The clichés are coming over and over, catchy choruses and a singer typical of the genre. The production sounds like something from the eighties and the variation is not much to write home about. And I wrote some more like that but there is no need to say it even more, let me just point out that it is not the most innovative creation I have heard during my years as a reviewer.

Not very interesting to me, it is only three tracks and they aren’t that amazing. Sure they are not very bad either and fans of the band’s first effort might find it fairly interesting I suppose. The cover is pretty good though, maybe not fantastically satisfactory but fairly okay. I would conclude that this is a rather pointless release and the songs are probably just leftovers from the debut album as they sound more or less exactly like the songs on the album.

A bit of a yawn is how I described the debut album about two years ago and that feels rather true as a description of this album as well. I can’t get no satisfaction from this album, that is how I can describe this album.
