Technical death metal with a funny name, perhaps not an overly common thing. The second album of the quartet is called Moksha and it has a pretty evil looking cover, perhaps to convey the monstrous sounds they promise you. Albums on this label does often have cool cover arts, and this one is not an exception. So, what about the music? Do they offer anything great?

It is fairly typical of the technical death metal style with smattering drums, aggressive growling, technical guitar playing, and that sort of thing. There are no surprises, it sounds like it usually does when it comes to technical death metal. Powerful and modern production, but nothing special in that regard. It is an album that is well put together but doesn’t stand out in terms of style or production quality, and I think that they have a rather weak singer.

Not a bad album, it should press most of the right buttons for the fans of the technical death metal style. What I miss are those outstanding track, the fresh ideas, and elements that would make them stand out from the masses. This album is a bit cautious perhaps, like the band doesn’t really dare to take risk and just go for the tried and tested. It is good, but far from great, and it doesn’t take long before I am a bit bored with this one. It feels long despite a playing time of just over the half hour.

In the end I feel that this album lacks imagination, it lacks bravery, and it doesn’t stand out for me. Fans of the genre should probably have a look at it but don’t expect to hear something great. I am happy to leave this one and focus on the next in the hope that it offers some novelty and excitement, because this doesn’t.
