This album has been spinning in my music player for a while now and when it comes to music I can’t really write that much; it is simple hardrock music. Straight to the point, catchy choruses, decent vocalist, good production, those are the points one can make of this album. It is also short and to the point with decent variation but without originality, it sounds as it usually does when it comes to this genre and these guys don’t really offer anything we haven’t already heard many times before.
The rhetorical question when hearing this album is: are they playing the nostalgia card? I think that card is being overused these days; do we always need to make things that play on/copies what has come before? Isn’t anyone coming up with new ideas these days? Some are but Yiek isn’t. But those who like classic rock music will find this rather agreeable; those who fall for the nostalgia card will certainly enjoy this album. I on the other hand would have liked to hear something that sounds fresh and exciting.
It is an album to pass some time, not really one that you really take the time and sit down to listen to. I would call this album a strong void-filler, good at parties or whatever but not really an exciting piece of music. They do it pretty well but I doubt that Yiek will really stand out in the already oversaturated world of music.
