fastball music
This is classically styled hard-rock music; it is straight to the point with a no-nonsense approach. Like something from AC/DC’s distant past with a more up to date production, they are not very unique however but it seems to be the thing to do these days – dreaming about the good old days, trying to revive them. It is very familiar and simple, straight to the point; it is music for the older gentleman who likes their classic rock music from giants that are getting very old these days. Razzmattazz borrow a lot from these guys and in many of the songs you can even point towards a specific song from where they have borrowed stuff.
They are not exactly an original band, not as dull as Bonafide but in the same sort of league of uncreative and unimaginative bands that just rehash what others have done before them. That is something we can be very critical about, but the album is still pretty good, as I like their energy and the attractiveness of the songs. It is go to music when you want something simple and catchy to listen to, when you just want something to push away the quiet. It works very well for that sort of thing.
None of the songs really stand out for me, they are all pretty good and they are certainly catchy. But there are many similar bands, this kind of music has been done I massive number and it is still being made in large quantities, I mean Bonafide even released their latest album on the same day as this one – that is how it is. So as a critic it is rather difficult to see the point of one more album, it is one of the better though so it has that going for it. So, all old geezer rejoice, two similar albums on the same day but if you only want one, this is way better than Bonafide’s latest effort.
