It appears that The Devil knows the name of Martin Sweet, the man behind Sweet Creature and a man most known for playing the guitar in a band called Crashdiet. Ha apparently has a great collection of demo songs that doesn’t necessarily fit the framework of his regular band, hence the new project. Thing is though that I am not so sure that the untrained listener will notice any significant difference between Crashdiet and Sweet Creature – fans will but I am not sure that the average bloke will.

I think they usually call this sleaze, classic hardrock with strong influences from the eighties with catchy choruses and quite melodic. Rough enough edges on the sound to make it feel a little bit youthful, but stylistically it is kind of what you expect from something where guys from this kind of music is involved. When you hear the first tones you know what to expect and you will not be surprised, a safe bet is one thing you could say about it.

And a good album is it, I like it with its song that have a decent hit potential even though they could have used a bit more variation over the nine tracks that we get. The fans of the genre and especially Crashdiet will find this a very appealing album, on my part I am not so sure it is good but not that great and particularly it is not very memorable. But it is a good piece to listen to and enjoy for a while and some of the tracks are very good.

Those good tracks are the opening one Not Like Others and Purpose in Life are my favourites on the album, strong tracks that I really like. Other than that there are some good tracks but I think they are a little too similar to make the album really Shine and in the light of that it is hard to really claim that this album is anything more than somewhat above average.
