Musically I don’t think it is that different from other acoustic stuff I have heard by rock musicians, maybe a little softer and more vocal harmonies but generally not really anything new. But it is really well performed and excellently produced and therefore it is an easy album to take in, and easy to like something I am sure that fans of these guys will do. The ten tracks shows relatively good variation and I think the album has some longevity to it, the playing time is kept relatively short as well. This is certainly a good production, worthy of recognition for at least that.
The album is good; the songs are of good quality and as I have already pointed out the production is good as well. I like the album, it is pretty enjoyable to listen to and I think it will work for most people. Still, it is also an album that doesn’t stand out that much, it is good but it doesn’t really catch my interest or imagination – I like it but it doesn’t grab me. That could be true for other listeners as well but if you like these guys or acoustic rocker I am certain that this will appeal to you, it is highly recommended if you are of that musical taste.
All the songs are quite good, I think that the one called Everyone is the best on the album. Black & White with guest appearance from Myles Kennedy is also a noteworthy song, but in the end I keep coming back to that thought that it doesn’t really grab me, and then to the thought that I generally am unimpressed by acoustic efforts by rock musicians – this album certainly does nothing to change that notion. In the end I recommend this album to fans of the guys whose names appear on the cover, it could be an album worth checking out.
