Pelagic rereleases a trio of Klone releases, two albums and one EP where the albums are coming on both CD and vinyl, first time on vinyl and they do so with some added goodies. This is the most recent of the three and the best, it was originally released in 2012 so it isn’t the oldest album anyone has rereleased and one could argue the point in reissuing such a recent album. But I will not debate the validity of a rerelease; rather take a look at how it sounds. And I would say that it sounds really good, the melodies are great and their musical soundscape spans several continents on the musical world map.

We have some groove metallish stuff, some stoner, psychedelic and some other smaller influences from different areas. It sounds rather fresh and exciting, which is refreshing considering what I tend to feel about many albums I receive. Great sound, great vocalist with a very good range for this album that also shows a lot of variation and depth from a band that certainly have to be seen as one of the best French bands I have heard.

I think that this one has no real weakness, it just moves on and on with good and exciting tracks that show a band with decent imagination and creativity – something that cannot be said about many bands. I like the cover and I think the title is really fitting for what we get with this album, it is kind of a musical hideaway from a world not really suiting a dreamer. In comparison with the other album they rerelease this year I would describe this as less dark and it also has much less of a wall of sound you have to get through in order to get to the songs – with this album the songs come to you, they lure you in and you are trapped within the great music that is Klone.

This is most certainly an album well worth checking out, not every album manages to keep me listening for over an hour which is how long this one plays if you count the two bonus tracks you get if you buy it on vinyl – and that is something I think you should do. All the tracks are really good and picking a favourite is impossible for me, I enjoy them all and most of all I enjoy the album – an album that is well worth buying because you might also find yourself walking on clouds at the end of the bridge.
