Female fronted alternative rock/hardrock, with some folkish elements and such. Not the most unique in terms of style and when I listened to this album I didn’t think it was particularly unique. Eilera has a voice that I believe you will either love or hate and I don’t love her voice but she writes good songs and she does sound good in the ending duo of track, Finnvox-versions of Frozen Path and Into the Sea and to me those are a little bit of what could have been. I think these two tracks sound really well and better than the other ten tracks on the album.
The atmospheres on this album are very good, and the songs are good but I think this album would have benefitted from some songs with a bit better tempo. The album feels a little bit stale almost lacklustre. Fans of this style of music will find this album very appealing but also be aware that there are quite a few better bands in this genre. But it is a solid effort with good sound and production but why did they end with those Finnvox-versions? I think that is part of why I think this album feels a tad lacklustre, as those Finnvox-versions are much better than anything else on the album.
Had the album sounded like those Finnvox versions it would have been an excellent album. Those are impressive but the album as a whole is lacking a little bit and doesn’t stand out enough to make more than a few ripples on the surface. It is a good but also a rather bland album.
