Musically it is pretty much like what we had before, it is a bit of metal and a bit of melodic rock. Pretty catchy, well produced and easy to like and the new singer they have found for this album is pretty good. I still think that the déjà vu I wrote is as correct now as it was back then – it is not like these guys have taken any mega steps since last time even though they have changed some membership and time has passed. Even the variation feels more or less as the variation we can expect from an album of this genre, no surprises, not even the 48-minute playing time feel particularly surprising. A quality production, that much is certain but they may not be that interesting from a creative standpoint.
Pretty good album but it doesn’t reek of novelty or something like that, to me novelty is very important in a new album. This is good but it can hardly be described as exciting or interesting but fans of the genre will probably find it pretty enjoyable, I can see how people could enjoy this. Still, to me it is more like an album that is too good to be considered bad and too poor to be considered great. It is an album that can be described as somewhere around the middle of the scale, hardly an album that will go down in history as one of the greats – but it is pretty good nonetheless.
The album itself may never create a perfect day but if you do something useful you may still have a perfect day when you listen to it. Good enough album I would say, no track stand out in either positive or negative way. I would say that those of you who liked the first album by these guys are bound to like this one as well, but in a wider perspective I have a hard time seeing them make any kind of real impression with this album.
