A sea in disorder, the land and sky merging into one. It is the debut album of this Austrian duo that has help from some name fairly prominent names from the post-metal genre. This debut album follows three years after their debut EP, and four years after the band was given life following an Opeth concert. We are offered six tracks on this 57-minute album that has a dramatic cover artwork and looks quite exciting.

Post-metal, post-rock or whatever you like to call the genre. It is quite similar to the bands mentioned as similar in this review. Built around music of a low tempo where the atmosphere and the instrumental parts are the integral parts of the album. There are vocals, those are slow and grunting and they take up much less space in the musical landscape than the instrumentals does. It is not particularly heavy or at first glance, particularly varied, there is a lot of depth though and given a chance and attention this album starts showing a lot more than is noticeable at first. There is more variation than you might think, there is a lot of drama and they are painting and complex landscape in long strokes with the musical brush.

I like this album; it offers a lot of drama, lots of depth and excitement. Kind of like being on a journey at sea, where the sky and the sea merge and any landmasses just disappear in the fog, everything merging into one. But the movement of the sea, the rain and the thunder still creates variations and depth in a landscape of almost nothingness. It is exciting to listen to and how they build their atmospheres is very interesting and begs for me to keep listening and keep playing the album which I have tone quite a few times now and each time I can conclude that it is an excellent album with no real weaknesses and several strengths.

No song stand out from the others, I think the album works best as a whole rather than as a collection of hit songs. This can be either strength or a weakness depending on the intentions of the band but I do think these guys intended to make the album this way and I think it works brilliantly. It might need some time and attention to get to know but if you give that you will be rewarded with an exciting album that I can recommend, especially to those who like the genre or the similar bands.
