Two years ago this band released their debut EP Rising and now, two years later they think they have risen to the task with their debut album Risen. It is a band that I read started as an internet project, it is Swiss-American band with Chandler Mogel as the band’s voice, a man known for AOR-band Outloud who are quite dull to be honest. I think his voice work better in Khaøs and their debut EP Rising was a very decent offering from and band in the rising. I think the cover art is somewhat better but it is still quite boring but it is what is inside that cover that matters.

Inside it is melodic rock music, not the most tempo filled or heavy album but with a good flow and feel. Chandler’s vocals work very well for this kind of music and the production is very good, not overly polished a bit rocky touches. I think it is a fresh production, but without really threading outside established paths. Easily accessible songs that you get to know quickly, it feels like a well thought out album. Decent variation over a dozen tracks is what you get but the playing time is a tad on the long side being well clear of the one hour mark. I tend to think albums should stay well beneath that mark, although that doesn’t alter the facts if albums are good or not.

And this is a good album, a bit on the long side perhaps. I think that they could have skipped one or two of the tracks in order to make the album shorter, a bit more to the point. Still, it is a very good album, fairly catchy and well performed. The songs are all solid, some are really good while one or two could be considered fillers. I think you might say that they have risen to the task of creating a very good melodic rock album and if you like the genre or liked the EP, then I am quite sure that you will find this album entertaining and good. Fresh but still familiar, I think that is a good and I can recommend this album.

I think there are many good songs on this album, well it is a really good album overall but there are a few tracks that is somewhat more memorable than the rest. Like the opener After the Silence and End of Daze and Static Windows, those are the three that I think stand out a bit more. So, I think that in the end we can conclude that this is a very strong album, well worth recommending to anyone into this genre.
