Jenx are coming back with a drifting album. It is inspired by the latest album and remixed and remade by keyboardist/sound engineer Lyynk. It is the third album by these guys, or this guy if you like to look at it this way. He has some ideas this Lyynk and discofying metal seems to be one of those ideas, but last time we weren’t overly impressed with what Jenx had to offer. Though they did everything right but still managed to be rather forgetful and it was actually only by reading the title in the press text about the band I recognised that I had reviewed them before. They don’t even sound like they did last time around so I did not even think I had heard the band before.

As was already suggested it is disco metal, sort of groove metal with a disco flavour. Much variation in the songs, much interesting ideas going with disco beats and stuff in a few remixed songs from the previous album as well as some songs that are sort of remodelled in lack of a better word. Impressive sound and production offering both depth and freshness. I think these ideas brings new life into this band’s music. It is a fairly short album with good variation, just under 40 minutes and only six tracks is what we are getting from this album. An album that I believe will not be to everyone’s liking as some people think metal always should be predictable and dull.

This is anything but predicable and dull, it is heavy, melodic, sort of with a dace like feel to it. It is exciting and clever, and it is different. I like it. It is enjoyable to listen to as it doesn’t sound like all those other records we get where most of them are just indifferent and uninteresting albums and that is certainly something to be applauded. I like fresh thinking and this is exactly that, it also shows that the only limitations to what can be done is in your own mind. An open minded person can achieve a lot more that the narrow minded and this is an album for the open minded. It may not be for everyone but I still recommend it because it is one hell of an album.

Short and to the point, none of the songs really stand out as they all stand for a high quality and they are all very entertaining meaning that the entire album is well worth spinning a few times in the record player. In short: a recommended album, I don’t really think I need to write much more than that about it. You take a look yourself.
