Well if you had you would have disregarded this album and you would have missed a heavy rock album with a rather standard configuration, it is quite modern in style I would describe it as. With catchy choruses and an overall catchy musical sensation, it is melodic but still being rather heavy I would say. Nothing musically earth shattering I would say but still with a slight sense of them being slightly different from the pack but that could just be my imagination. The production is solid and very good, the sound has power and energy and the album shows every sign of a quality production, the songs are a bit infectious I would say and it is sometimes quite impossible not to be sining along with them. But what about the songs then? is it more than a quality production?
I would say that it is, although I see it as something of an issue with the album being so long as it is. But it is still bearable considering that the songs are all good especially the opening pair called Eleven and I-Dentity but also the ending track which is called Past - Present - Future is clearly a highlight and that makes the playing time less of an issue than it could have been. I also think that the fourth track Die Kraft ist in Dir is a good piece, this in total makes this a strong as well as interesting album. I think one will have to commend these guys for doing a fairly traditional hardrock album that still show a band with their own identity, that is an impressive feat to say the least.
So, in the end I think that we can conclude that these guys with this album have managed to establish an own identity within a genre that does not usually allow for much of that. We can also conclude that the swiss are a force to reckon with when it comes to the traditional kind of hardrock. So for all of you impressed with traditional high quality hardrock, here you have something to take a closer look at. It will be well worth it, as this is a very good album which might be a bit on the long side but as it starts and ends in a great fashion it isn’t that much of a problem which is why I recommend Tribal and their third album I-Dentity to all fans of hardrock.
