Let me ask you a very serious question, do you know how dreams are made? I happen to know the answer. First of all you will need seven nails, these will be needed to build a factory of dreams. But of course that till not be enough, the recipe for dreams will also have to be followed. But unlike the recipe for coca cola, the one for dreams was obtainable for real through an online marketplace. You start with next page which you have to mix with frozen blue. Add some yeast and then await the Pharaohs call that tells you when the mixture is ready to be attached to the back of the mirror. Now comes the difficult thing, you need to become a prisoner of your own and then travel on the way to the butterflies. Then after you have allowed me to breathe it is time to fry it in a frying pan of the dimensions 1x4x9, it has to be those dimensions otherwise it all fails. Throw in a masquerade and a couple of phantoms before you throw it into the oven at 225°C. Let it stand there for enough time before the critical moment. You need to chose your weapon right and then add the eyes of Medusa to top it all off. If you have done it all correctly there are dreams to be dreamt for another night. But enough with the science lessons now, let us instead look at this german band.

Symphonic, progressive metal. With female vocals, and male vocals, no growls and no soprano vocals is to be found. Strings are there, maybe thanks to the band having a dedicated violinist, they are quite noticeable these violins. The sound is very good, quite excellent in fact but it lacks some dynamics which would have given the album a whole lot more depth. None of the singers are that impressive I have to say, they seem a bit weak and without power it can be said. The singers may not offer that much variation in the vocals, but the variation in the album is fairly good but I do not think it is enough to keep the long playing time interesting all the way to the end. But as debut albums go, it is hard to hear many flaws in the production, the only thing is the lack of dynamics.

It is a bit complex and a bit different, I have not heard much that sounds like this so they have the originality. Still, there is something lacking. I think the vocals could have been better and the album seems a bit flat thanks to the lack of dynamics. The album isn’t dreamy enough for my taste, neither is it diffuse enough. So they have nailed the originality but they haven’t really used it to its best ability. They could have done a lot more with it but being original isn’t the same as being good. They are good, no doubt about that but not as good as they could have been.

They have a lot of things going for them and they have some good ideas, but even so they do not really impress that much and the album ends up being a bit of a neither, nor. Neither bad, nor good. It is a decent symphonic metal album, the progressive stuff if fairly progressive but that side of it isn’t the letdown. The letdown is the vocals and the lack of dynamics so let us just say that it is a decent debut that could be interpreted as a show of promise for a good future. However, that is for the future to tell and this album is tells me that the now is rather average.
