Wouldn’t it be great to release the Rancor and bury the world, destroy humankind? Though we are probably going to destroy ourselves anyway, so no Rancor is probably needed for that as all the rancour will probably pave the way for our world being buried. In stupidity. But what about the Spanish band with such a hateful name? Can they be anything but something in the extreme metal genre? No, but they are more melodic than I thought from the beginning. The cover is pretty dreadful though, but we don’t need to see it in vinyl, at least not yet.

Thrash metal is what it is, classic in style with the familiar riffage, the familiar vocals, and the familiar songs. It is a bit less aggressive than the worst offenders in the genre, but still quite aggressive. Powerful. The production is modern and dynamic with room for both heavy aggression and some melodies, a good production, but not anything outstanding. The playing time is sensible with the ten tracks needing about forty minutes to play from beginning to end.

Good tracks, good album, but not a special or outstanding album. It caters to the usual strengths of the thrash metal genre, but the novelty is underwhelming and it is almost like l am not listening to a new album but rather something that I have heard before. Déjà vu in a sense. But it is a fine album to listen to, thrash made well tend to be entertaining and good – it isn’t particularly memorable though, probably because it is another one in a long line of similar albums already released.

Fans of the thrash metal genre is likely to appreciate this album as it caters to what they enjoy. I find it good enough to give a spin or two but hardly an album that I will keep in my music player now that this review is written. But it would be nice to see them bury the world of humans to the soundtrack of this album.
