I wonder if they knew how fitting their name and title of the debut album would be nowadays, I guess the vision of the mortal nature is visible for many Ukrainians today. Mortal Vision is a Ukrainian band and Mind Minipulation is the title of their debut album, perhaps an album to play when annihilating those pesky Russians who decided to launch an unprovoked attack just because their mentally ill president said so. One can hope that an album like this inspires to waste countless Russians, waste them all I say. Now, some would claim that the Russian people don’t deserve to be killed for what their leaders do, but leaders can’t just take power. They are given power by the people, who can also take away that power, something that the Russian people doesn’t do and that makes them as guilty for the needless was as Putin is.

Anyway, the album itself is thrash metal of classic style. There might be some inspirations from Brazilian thrash like Sepultura, but also European style. It is not anything particularly ground-breaking, but it is energetic and raunchy, it should appeal to the fans of the thrash metal genre. The album is also short and to the point, I like that. The singer is a good thrasher, and the album conveys energy and grit, like thrash metal should do. What I can miss is the voice of the band itself, I think they let their inspirations rather than themselves speak.

The funniest thing about this album is that I randomly picked a Ukranian band to review just as the Russian idiots decided to attach that country, and I think it is an album that speaks quite well of the fighting spirit of the Ukrainians. It is aggressive and powerful, I don’t think they will bow down that easily, and hopefully the rest of the world takes more offense and respond more appropriately. I think bombing Moscow would be a great thing to do, and the Russians have shown that there is no need to take the civilian population into consideration – and you cannot even consider Russian civilians collateral damage anyway. It is kind of difficult to keep focus on the album itself when you know that the guys in the band might be under fire right now.

Mind Manipulation can be worth getting, if not only to give some support to a few inhabitants of a country that is being invaded by a gang of bullies. I play Mortal Vision again and dream of it being head on a battlefield where the Russians are falling into piles of dead morons. I like the aggressive catchiness of Mind Manipulation, the backside is that it lacks an outstanding hit songs and can therefore appear somewhat flat. Still, it is an enjoyable release.
