They do not reinvent the wheel when it comes to music, it is melodic hard rock with catchy choruses and that sort of thing. And they have a vocalist with a very distinct voice, not a great voice, but a voice that is great for this album. I think he makes them stand out. We are given eight tracks on this album and the variation makes the thirty-six minutes the album plays for pass very quickly and it is very tempting to press play again.
This is a great album, it is familiar and fresh, the distinct vocals make them stand out. And then they pair those great vocals with some great songs as well – that gives us a fairly excellent album with exclusively strong tracks and no weaknesses. The choice of vocalist is a stroke of genius, although some might think that his way of singing is unappealing as he differs from what is the norm of the genre. It is clear from the impressive opener that this album is quite special, that opener called Fire at Will is probably my favourite of the album. I also find the ending power ballad Worlds Collide to be another standout track, and it leaves you wanting to hear more.
Excellent Finnish hard rock with enjoyable songs, and memorability – it is well worth checking out, and it is a bit of a shame that it isn’t released on vinyl. I don’t think you should miss this great album and the great songs it contains, behind that great cover hides and excellent album. I noticed the cover in the music player, gave it a go, and then I couldn’t stop playing this great album. Something really great is clearly hiding behind that 964th door.
