As you can see from looking at the cover it is death metal and of the American variety, gruff and slow vocals and the typical brutish riffing and drumming – anyone who have heard the death metal before can pretty much think of that and know how this album sounds. It would be a bit pathetic to expect originality or surprises from an album like this one, it is classic American Death metal plain and simple. The sound is typical of the genre, so are the vocals, and there isn’t much variation. I think the album is a tad on the long side and it would not have been detrimental to it if it was shorter.
Is it pathetic to makes jokes on the pathetic name? Perhaps it is a royally ratty album, but that isn’t too funny either, unless my cat catches and eats that rat – that would be somewhat humorous albeit probably give him bad breath which isn’t great. Isn’t great is what I would say about the album as well, pretty poor actually. I am not impressed with what I am hearing here, it is a pretty boring album that doesn’t add anything we haven’t already heard before.
This is probably an album that will appeal to you if you like the classic death metal genre, especially the American style of death metal. You might think that it is somewhat pathetic if you don’t agree with the death metal genre, and then you might want to avoid it. It may not be as pathetic as the name indicated but it isn’t very brilliant either, my cat doesn’t like it.
