A death brigade that strikes again, the guys from Moscow of anonymous stature comes up with their third release. It is an album with eleven bad accent anthems aptly entitled Bad Accent Anthems, and it has a pretty ridiculous artwork – but it is a pretty standout artwork. Their previous release Boltcutter was pretty sharp and enjoyable, at least that is what I thought when I reviewed it about two years ago and I think this one is to be recommended as well.

These anthems of bad accent can be described with many style references like rap & hip hop, metal, hardcore, rock, hardrock and stuff like that – they do not quite fit into any single format and that is a good thing. The songs are catchy with some really strong, memorable hooks. The production is good and there are one or two surprises, the sound is also fresh and modern which is a positive thing. Add to that a sensible playing time and the conclusion is simple; Bad Accent Anthems is a really good production and album.

While you can find downsides with everything if you are really looking, in the case of this album you have to be looking fairly hard to find these downsides. All the tracks are good, like the opening track Out of the Basement that sets a good tone for the album that is then kept up throughout the eleven tracks. The slight downside might be that there isn’t really a standout track that can be considered a smash hit, but there is quite a lot of hit potential throughout the album and I think that it can be considered quite memorable.

Enjoyable album, perhaps something to fill the days when you are practicing social distancing in your home far away from others, far more interesting and fresher than most of the stuff that ends up in the Hallowed mailboxes. These bad accent anthems are anthems that I recommend you to have a closer look at.
