The third album by The A.X.E. Project is telling us that the future is imperfect, and perhaps it is with all that is going on these days as that will probably lead to an imperfect future for many. I think it has a pretty interesting artwork, and the band themselves is from a pretty exotic location from a metal standpoint. Inside that artwork hides a pretty exotic album of eight tracks from the symphonic kind of metal, symphonic and progressive, I think.

They do have a fairly fresh sound and comes up with stuff that stands on their own feet from a creative standpoint. Sure, they aren’t the most imaginative thing I have ever heard and there are some nice moody stuff that remind me very much of Dream Theater’s Scenes From a Memory, and that certainly isn’t the worst thing you can take inspirations from. I think the variation is good and they have a decent vocalist that suits the music really well, the mixing with male vocals adds a nice depth to it as well. The plating time is sensible and the production is very good, this album certainly has much to offer.

I like this one and I think that it is without weaknesses, at least those weaknesses that needs to be mentioned. The songs are all good and impressive, I like the atmosphere the band are offering, I think that it is a quite enjoyable album. The thing lacking might be a standout song, but I don’t think they need it as the album is enjoyable as it is, although a standout song might offer another dimension. Overall I think this album showcases an interesting band doing their thing really well.

The latest package from Art Gates really showcased some strong bands and this might be the most interesting of those, it has been quite enjoyable to listen to. I recommend that you have a look at this album, and I don’t think that you’ll regret checking it out as it is a very good album.
