It would seem as though there is a season for the ghosts, or if the season of ghosts was back in October when the second album of this band was released. A Leap of Faith is what the album is called and it has the vocalist Sophia on the cover – pretty good cover. They are described as a band based in UK and Japan and they are said to be inspired by a pretty wide variety of stuff like Japanese Visual kei, American rock as well as European metal - a wide variety of inspirations but does it mean that the album is an album that shows a wide variety of exciting songs?

It is female fronted metal/rock where the vocals can be described as rather brilliant. In some ways the remind me of Italian band Absynth Aura that I reviewed some years ago, the voice is very similar and so are some of the songs. The production is also rather great with good variation and depth and they also keep the playing time rather sensible where the eleven tracks (if you count the Japanese edition of A Place to Call Home) need about 46 minutes to be played through and that feels just right for this album.

I would describe this album as fantastic in its best moments, the vocals are absolutely brilliant and the best songs are outstanding. Like the Japanese Version of A Place to Call home that ends this album, it is a great track and ending of this album and the Japanese version is better than the English one. The best track is however the one called Astero (id) and that is just outstanding in every regard, a track that invites you to play it over and over and over again, it is that great. And had the album been of the same level as these mentioned tracks it would be worth one of the highest ratings but they are not as great so the rating is five.

This album is so good that I would probably have thought of it for my top-ten list but I can’t say for sure that it would have been featured there but it would have been considered had I heard it before I summarised last year. So now you know that this is a great album and that you should not miss the season of ghosts as it shows lots of promise and no weaknesses, and it is fantastic in its best moments. I think you ought to take a leap of faith and check out this very strong album.
