On the subject of the style it is more or less the same kind of industrial or gothic metal as we heard on the previous album, same kind of typical gothic styled vocals. The production is quite okay, nothing special but it works. Pretty ordinary vocals on this album and the variation of the songs are quite standard for the genre. There are no surprises to be heard here but at least they keep the ten tracks to a sensible playing time, something that is always a positive.
Raving murdering and massacres in the lyrics, fairly typically gothic in the music – I think they could have been and probably should have been a bit darker in their style. It is kind of the same as the previous album in every regard, the same style and the same quality and I don’t think this is any better. It is a logical second act for their story and you will probably like it if you like Porn, and then you will probably look forward to the final act that most likely will contain a lot more sex and stuff. Personally I am not that sure I am looking forward to the next act, not if it will be more of the same as the first two – just okay doesn’t really peek my interest. Sure it is too good to be considered bad – but it isn’t that interesting.
Not the most exciting release but those into the gothic metal genre will probably find that this French act is rather good. I think that it is a solid gothic album that is well put together, but it is not a particularly memorable album and what they do has been done better by other bands so it will not be an album featuring amongst the highlights when one looks back at 2019.
