Made from steel can be said about this trio of Swiss musicians who are now releasing their second album, an album they call The Stories We Tell. And while they tell their stories I can tell you that the story of this band begun in 2016 and that they released the debut album the same year. They are described as down-to-earth rock music with an alternative touch in the press material, perhaps they should have also added that they do have a rather Swiss sound to their album – they remind me of several other Swiss bands in how they sound.

A dozen stories are what they are telling in their Swiss rock manner, they do so with a good rock production and pretty good vocals. It is an album that offers a decent variation and a playing time that might be a touch on the longer side, but it ends really well and that slightly offsets the long playing time. Perhaps they could have offered a bit more of a personal touch to the music but it is music that is easy to like and easy to take to. I think that those who like this kind of music are likely to find this album most appealing.

Down-to-earth good rock music with decent variation and that sort of thing, but even though it is a good album I think it lacks that personal touch that makes good albums great. The ending track We Are Bizarre is such a track but the rest of the album doesn’t have that much like that which is a shame. Perhaps the album is a tad on the long side, and perhaps it isn’t exciting enough to really stand out amongst the big number of similar albums that already exist. Nevertheless, I think that Steelmade is a rather good band and their new album is quite good.

Entertaining enough, that’s how I would describe this album, fairly enjoyable and fun to listen to. It is a bit of a shame though that more tracks aren’t like the ending track We Are Bizarre because that is a really good and entertaining track. The stories they tell are fairly good, and I can recommend it to anyone who likes Swiss rock music. And I think that it is an album that will not be disappointing to anyone.
