Noah is who these guys claim that they are, at least in their band name. This is their new EP Final Breed; it follows a bit over a year since their debut album that was released in 2016. It is almost seventeen minutes divided in four tracks on this EP that has a good and fairly exciting looking artwork. According to the press release they present themselves more multifaceted, more adult and more motivated than ever before.

On the subject of the music I guess it can be described as modern metal/metalcore. It is relatively fresh and well produced. The vocals can be described as a bit monotonous, metalcorish screaming is what they are and they sound quite the same all the way through the four tracks of the album – that could be seen as something of a weakness. There isn’t too much variation throughout the EP but it is short enough not to be particularly bothersome and the quality of the production if good enough to interest many.

And after playing this EP several times I can conclude that this is a good EP, the songs are rather good and it should be quite appealing to those who like this kind of music. But I think a hit song would have done a lot of good for this EP, the opening single track is the one that is closest and it sets a good tone. But after that the opening track I think it is a bit stale, perhaps a bit more variation would have been beneficial as well.

Had I been a fan of the modern metal/metalcore genre I would probably have recommended this album and claimed it was great – but I am a critic and it is not really that interesting. It is good, it works and as a buyer I would not have been disappointed. Nevertheless, it isn’t a particularly memorable EP so my ending thoughts would have to be that it is a good but ultimately forgettable.
