Just like the previous two albums it is melodic rock/AOR without surprises, not very imaginative. I would say that it conforms to the format and those who like it will enjoy this album as it pushes the right buttons with strong melodies, catchy choruses, good vocalist and excellent production. A bit on the long side with the eleven tracks playing for a hefty 51 minutes making you loose some interest towards the end and just like the previous albums you could claim that the band lacks imagination and just follows in the footsteps of old giants.
Like most AOR/melodic rock these this album lack the sense of novelty that makes a new album sound like something new and exciting, this sounds like I have heard it all before and I have done so many times. But I would not be surprised if the internet reviewers will rave over it, claiming it to be the tenth album of ten they review that will be on their top ten list over 2017. I am completely sure it will not be on my top ten lists over 2017. The previous albums lacked novelty as well but they were far and away better than this one, an album that doesn’t even have a standout track. And in the end I find myself not really taking this one to heart, in this case it was actually better in the good old days.
Sure, you will not be disappointed if you buy this album; it is solid enough and strong enough for that. On the other hand, you will not be very enthusiastic about it either so it is kind of a better looking but worse sounding Lionville album. I recommend checking out their previous albums because they are really good, this one is a step backwards in comparison but perhaps it is a logical release in a world of fools.
