Modern production and plenty of energy with few chances to catch your breath is what they offer. Fairly typical vocals and style, hardly anything that can be described as ground-breaking – but it also sounds a bit too energetic to be made by zombies, which leads me to suspect that their name is misleading in that regard. We get 34 minutes of rather intense musical experiences, not much variation though and only the ending track breaks off slightly. They would really benefit from more variation and a musical approach that isn’t doomed to be forgotten before it is even heard properly.
One can really quickly dismiss this band as one of those that ends up in the great pile of albums that are being reviewed and then never played again – that is not because they are band but because they are fairly forgetful. Their music is solid, it is in fact rather good to listen to but it never really grabs my attention and the zombie-like empty copying from the past makes me tune out my mind before the 34 minutes are up.
Difficult album to review as it is good but doesn’t really offer anything new or make any lasting impression, it works okay but there are just too many better albums in this genre for it to be anything but 34 minutes of entertainment that is forgotten the moment it ends, kind of like a Hollywood blockbuster. Solid effort that is perfect for a rating in the middle of our scale, probably perfect for zombies.
