Rednote is a Swedish band with one album in their baggage and now they are on a mission to release a story in four parts that will be released in four EPs. This is the first part, a five-track, sixteen minute EP that is described as nu-metal. If you want to have something to compare it with I would mention Korn and I can also mention that it looks much better than it sounds.

It is not overly well produced, the sound has to be described as rather average, the vocalist is fairly good though but there is not much variation over the tracks and I find that it lacks a focal point and it lacks something that catches the attention of me as a listener. It is one of those EPs you just pass by without really knowing that you have heard it, bland would be a good description of how it sounds as I cannot find myself focusing enough on it to really hear it despite having played it many times now. That means it is an EP that don’t really accomplish anything, to me it seems as though it is a rather directionless thing.

Good thing it is short. Nothing else is really good, they seem to be too focused on doing what others have done before them and therefore don’t really accomplish anything on their own and with that I don’t have much else to say. It is really difficult to write about things that don’t evoke any kind of emotions, like this EP. All I can do now is hope that the following chapters of the story are much better as this one isn’t really worth spending time on.
