They arrive soon before sundown, the German microclocks and they do so with music coloured by the same colour as that near sundown sky. An album where atmosphere seems to trump the hits, and an album that happens to be the third of this band that is described as rock, electro on the press sheet that came in the letter. And that isn’t a too band a description as it is rock music with some electro influences and a nice close to sunset atmosphere.

They produce their stuff well and the album is relatively varied on eleven tracks with a decent playing time. They have a good vocalist as well, and I really like the atmospheres and the album could almost be described as exciting had it not been for the fact that it doesn’t really have any standout songs. Sure, the songs are good but none of them stand out in the grand scheme of things.

I think the second track White Rabbit is good and the fifth one called The Edge is also a nice one, the latter could be described as having some hit potential but I don’t think it is quite good or exciting enough to be a real hit song. I think the album works, it is easy enough to take to and good enough to lend some time but it will not go down in history and the only ones that should be really interested are the ones that are already fans.

So I will not really recommend it to others than the band’s fans. Sure the atmosphere’s great and you will probably not be disappointed if getting the album, but it is a middle or the road album and any rating other than the middle one would feel wrong. It is a pretty good album but it is not really exciting enough to stand out.
