Thrash metal is how one can describe this album, classic eighties sound with some enrichments like hammonds and moogs just to spice up the show. The sound is classic, nice production that what was the case in the eighties but pretty raw sound compared with much that is being released today. I think their sound is a very suitable sound for a thrash metal album, they offer ten tracks and just over 40 minutes of music – decent variation over these tracks as well. Overall I would describe this as a solid production, so what about the songs and the overall quality?
Good album, good songs, good performance, all is good about this album by Game Over – it is certainly not a crime against reality. Thrash metal fans will most likely find this album very agreeable, I know I find it agreeable although not amazing or fantastic – in all honesty it feels a little like I have heard it before, originality doesn’t seem to be their forte. Although, originality isn’t really something that appears to be important to thrash metal bands or thrash metal fans so I would recommend thrash metal fans to check out this album.
I think that the title track is the highlight of the album, all the tracks are quite good and none of them stand out as weak. I find this a good album and it might well be worth checking out, especially if you are a thrash metal fan. And this of course means that Game Over isn’t always such a bad thing as video gamers might think, that is always a good thing.
