Only four tracks but three of them passing the ten-minute mark and even with a two minute ending it passes the forty-minute mark. The four tracks offer dark atmospheric doom or black metal, not the most varied of albums I have heard in my life. Especially the vocals and their grunting slow raspy style can tend to feel a tad monotonous in the whole of it. The tracks are varied in themselves but parts of them are a bit on the long side and the one not really into this kind of music might want to hear something a little bit more dynamic. It is a bit dark and morose, but also with a sense of hope. The production is strong, the atmosphere is good and I think that one can describe this as a quality production and a lot more mature than what one can expect from a debuting band.
I think that this is a good album, solid production and interesting atmosphere is what makes the album worth listening to. One could argue that it has a little tendency to become monotonous, especially on the vocal side but I think that the album overall can be a little bit more dynamic – to me that would be vary beneficial to the album. Not that it is weak or anything, it is still a good album but maybe it is a little bit for the fans of the genre rather than appealing to a wider audience – something that can be both good and bad depending on what you outlook on it is. To me this is a good album and I can recommend that you have a look at it, especially if you like this kind of music.
There are four tracks on the album, three of them are very long and are long journeys and therefore the one I find most appealing is the ending track. At the same time that track is a little bit out of place as it doesn’t really add anything to the album, as the album as a whole works better on only the three long tracks while the short track is the best as a standalone track. And with that I think that we can safely conclude that this is a solid debut album, well worth looking at – especially if you like the genre.
