This EP has a strange title August 21, wonder what that date means. Anyways, it is a cool covered EP that goes in the sign of the ballad. There are five tracks on this EP, and they are all ballads. For you who think this band that now releases their second EP is a strange one I can tell you that they have arisen from the ashes of now disbanded band The Borderline Saints who were pretty well received by us here at Hallowed. The quintet released their first EP last year and their second was released a while ago now.

Very melodic and well-produced rock ballads are what we get on this EP, mostly female fronted but with additional male vocals to spice it up and add variation. The ballads themselves are also fairly varied in style even though the EP itself feels slightly lacking in the variation theme, as it is only ballads. I think that the EP has much depth through the songs and that the vocals are very good, overall it is a very solid production and really well performed all the way through.

I think that this is a very good EP, the songs are great overall and it is enjoyable to listen to. Although one has to add the reservation that it will start to feel quite repetitive quite soon as it is only ballads and you can only vary them to a certain degree and five tracks seems to be the limit to what these guys can keep interesting even though I lose interest slightly towards the end. This is however a very good indication of what is to come from a great band, if they use these ballads and spice them up with six or seven more uptempo songs of decent variation they will really have something quite brilliant to show for.

The second track Deception is the greatest track on this EP, it is a brilliant track that stand out amongst the five – although the other four aren’t too shabby either. I think that this is a really enjoyable EP in a small doze, and it is most of all a very relaxing EP. I think this EP can be worth checking out, if not only to hear the beginning of something that could be really exciting in the future.
