A band of husband and wife Gardner, a band founded by lady Gardner and one that has been up an coming for a few years now. They have an EP in the baggage and late last year released the single Breathe which has seen som radio play and exposure to keep the fans waiting for this debut album happy. Now the debut album sees the light of day, it is Called A New Victorian and has an attractive cover artwork.

It is female fronted hardrock/metal, music built around a dozen hit songs and a strong female vocalist. It offers catchy choruses, a strong production and a depth not noticeable at first as the songs are instantly gratifying for the listener. Good variation amongst the songs, and 54 minutes of playing time should be bearable. I would say that there are many positive things to like about this album.

It is a strong album, I like it. The songs are enjoyable, the voice is good and it you need to be a real nitpicker to find anything wrong with the album. It even feels rather fresh so you cannot even complain about that aspect but you could say that it also feels rather familiar and it is difficult to write many funny thing about it in a review but that is a matter that doesn’t really reflect on the quality of the album.

So we have a short review where a few noticeable tracks to mention is the opener Breathe which is a great choice of opening track and introductory single. Then tracks like Iconoclast and American Pop stand out slightly. The best one in my opinion is the third track Cinderella that is a strong standout track that keeps inviting you back to the album. But picking out highlights when there are a dozen strong tracks feels a bit like filling space so without further ado I can explain that I can recommend this album to anyone who likes good music. An impressive debut.
