Death-thrash metal is what it is, classic in style and ancient in production. Kind of a raw and unpolished product, not the most fresh or novel album I have ever laid ears on. The vocals are very brutal and aggressive, the whole things reeks of pubertal aggression which seems slightly strange considering that this band released their debut all the way back in 1996 so they should have grown a bit more sophisticated one might think. There are some melodic touches there as well, it ends quite calmly. Not the most varied album I have ever heard and the playing time over ten tracks is 44 minutes long so it isn’t the longest of albums ever.
This album feels strangely flat, there isn’t much in terms of attention grabbers here. To me this album is plain boring. Then again, I am not the targeted audience for this kind of music so there is a bit of space of interpretation here, it may appeal to fans of the genre even if I think they too must be bored with hearing the same thing over and over again at some point. Strange thing is though that this album fails to make me the slightest interested in it anywhere I just sort of glance over it and the album ends without making any kind of impression.
Not the best album I have ever heard, the fact is that it is just dull. It may not be that bad but it is boring to me but the ending track is good, calm and a nice way to end it all. Too bad the rest of the album isn’t quite up to that level. In the end I think that we can describe this album as something that could appeal to the fans of the death-thrash metal genre. The rest of us can in good consciousness look elsewhere for our musical thrills. It is another album in a stream of albums that fails to make an impression in an oversaturated musical ocean.
