Classic, powerful and raw hardrock/metal music is what they are offering. It is straight to the point, with energy, german lyrics, a powerful vocal presence and a really strong modern production. Just over 50 minutes of playing time which includes the two digipak bonus tracks that are two live tracks. These are not as well produced as the rest of the album. I think that when comparing with the band’s past efforts that has also been reviewed here at Hallowed, I think not much has happened. They are doing the same thing as before but perhaps with a somewhat more metallic direction, they are more metal than before. Not much more though. Decent variation over the tracks, I think this album will appeal to anyone who likes these guys’ previous efforts.
Good album, strong production and good tracks with energy and hit potential. The two live tracks I can do without, they feel a tad pointless but okay I can overlook those and end the album before they play out. Other than that there aren’t really anything to complain about when it comes to the quality of the album. Although I think we can conclude that the band are repeating themselves quite a bit now and should really be well served by venturing down slightly different avenues as they now have done four very similar albums in five years, that can feel a bit repetitive despite the fact that all four albums are very good. Recycling is a good thing, just not when it comes to music.
I think the fourth track Pogobraut is a real hit, I love that track as it has massive energy, great tempo and and great chorus. It is the standout track of this album, an album that is otherwise a very familiar face, a face that starting to get a bit too familiar now and at least I want to have more surprises the next time I hear Unherz. I think that those of you who likes this genre or enjoy the band from their earlier works will find this album very appealing. It is a very solid effort and hard to fault, but next time please do something slightly different.
