Well, this album has a really ugly cover art, it keeps with the black metal tradition I guess. This Finnish band has released their twelfth album just recently, so it is an experienced band in the field of the traditional black metal genre. Known for evil lyrics and that sort of thing, they will most likely appeal to the fans of ridiculous black metal and that sort of thing. Not that I am demeaning to that sort of thing in any way, it is just that it sucks in my opinion.

And this album is a no nonsense straightforward black metal album of the more traditional kind. High tempo and a brutal sonic assault that could be hurtful to ears and mind. Low-tech sound, grumpy so-called vocals and a rough edged feel. These finns knows how to sound angry. I think that just by looking at the cover art, you will know what to expect. It is typical of the genre, the variations is as nonexistent as they usually are in the genre and I doubt this album will appeal to anyone outside the tiny sphere of people who like the old-school black metal.

Well, to be honest I hate this album as much as I hate Mac OSX Mavericks, which means a lot. Fortunately in music you are not limited to the lesser of two awful things so I can leave this album alone and head for something better. Question one can have though is how to rate the quality of the album, should one look at it from the genre perspective or the bigger picture? I think most people care about a bigger picture so if fans of the band hate me for saying that this black metal noise sounds worse than cascade vomiting.

As much as they do their worst to sounds black metallish and some may like it, I think that to most of us it sounds like a big pile of shit that we should stay away from. I think this album truly sucks, sure it isn’t the worst thing I have ever heard but then again cancer is not the worst disease you could ever get but that doesn’t make you want it. After a lot of complaining I can conclude, if you haven’t already figured it out, that this album is not particularly good and I’ll advice against it. Get it at your own peril.
