”Enceladus is the sixth-largest moon of Saturn. It was discovered in 1789 by William Herschel but little was known about Enceladus until the two Voyager spacecraft passed near it in the early 1980s.The Voyagers showed that the diameter of Enceladus is only 500 kilometers (310 mi), about a tenth of that of Saturn's largest moon, Titan, and that it reflects almost all the sunlight that strikes it. Voyager 1 found that Enceladus orbits in the densest part of Saturn's diffuse E ring, indicating a possible association between the two. Voyager 2 revealed that, despite Enceladus's small size, it has a wide range of surfaces ranging from old, heavily cratered regions to young, tectonically deformed terrains that formed as recently as 100 million years ago.” It is from this icy and also very interesting moon that this band has taken their name.

Journey to Enlightenment is the title of this debut album, it has a very attractive album cover artwork. It looks really exciting. This american trio offers a progressive metal album. Decent power but the focus is on the melodies, the depth, the variation and complexity. It all adds up to an interesting concept that is fairly easy to take in but carries a good longevity thanks to the variation over the thirteen tracks and 55 minutes of playing time. I would however say that the album is a bit less spacey than it looks. I think a less spacey While Heaven Wept is a good comparison for those who knows said band. Good production, I like the soundscape even though I would say that it needs a bit more stratosphere to really suit the look and the name.

Less cold than the moon with the same name as the band. It is good, and strong. I like the opening riff even though I think it sounds very familiar but I cannot recall where or if I have heard it before. Maybe it was in a dream or a journey to enlightenment. It is a good album, the singer is quite good as well. I would however say that it lacks that little extra to place it amongst those very few best albums. I think however that fans of progressive metal should look closer at this album as it has lots to offer.

Strong album as I have alluded to, maybe it is a bit cautious. Maybe the band should have gone a little bit further and taken a little bit more chances. It feels solid and secure but not as exciting as the best in the genre does. Impressive debut album that promises a little bit more than it can deliver but if they can let it rip a little bit more in future we will hear a lot more about Enceladus.
