It certainly paints from a wide musical pallet, on a broad canvas. Their musical landscape has many dimensions, and lots of depth. Their canvas also paints of emotions like darkness, hope, melancholy and a lot more. There is depth. There is variation, it is an album that requires your time and attention if you want to know it. I should also add that the production is very strong and that they do what they do with skill and accuracy. It is an impressive production, and the nine tracks and 43 minutes of the album can well be played over and over again.
I think that this is great album and one of the better I have heard in a while, I enjoy how it grows for every time you hear it. I also enjoy how the first track’s background keyboards which reminds me of the video game Final Fantasy VII. The melody reminds me of the opening melody of said video game, not because it is really that much alike but there is something about it. They paint well, their canvas is exciting and you can just stand there and take it in for hours on end. You don’t grow tired of it and it grows for each and every time you listens to it. It is an album with lots of longevity and it is thoughtworthy and interesting, an album that has a lot. Not so fond of the growly vocals though, fortunately they are shared with clean vocals that are very good so they even out quite well.
I like every song on this album, they all have something to offer. But tracks like the opener Xibalba, The Storm and Melancholia might just be a little bit more memorable than the others. Although that might be depending on when I listen to the album. I enjoy this album a lot, it has much to offer and much enjoyment to give. My hat’s off to Dioramic and their Supra, an album that I can recommend to anyone who likes their music a bit more thoughtworthy and a bit different from much that we hear today. Check it out!
