Experience can be either a benefit or a burden for a musician, in these guy’s case I think it is a benefit considering the quality of the production. But not only that, the songs are classic in style and yet they feel fresh. Seventies blues rock with today’s production, that is a lethal combination not only for those with a nostalgic view on life. The album’s ten songs show a good variation and though they do not show much in terms of exciting new groundbreaking stuff, they are still feeling very fresh and exciting. I find this a great feat, these guys clearly know what they are doing and they still have fresh ideas as well. I would call this a quality production and it doesn’t even feel long despite it’s over fifty minutes playing time, something that can be a problem in many cases but isn’t in this one.
I am impressed, not only by the production but also by the quality of the album as a whole. All the songs are good, the singer impresses, and the sound is excellent. Seventies music brought back to life, in a big way. I would say that this album shows no weaknesses, the only possible way to dislike this album is if you hate this kind of music. And why would you hate this kind of music? I would say that this is a great album, no other word for it really as all the songs are good and none of them are weak in any way.
The best songs are the opening Walk Tall and the title track, they are the most memorable songs on the album. Not that they are so much better, I think that the choruses are just better than on the rest of the songs, hence I remember them better than the other eight songs. It is classic rock music at its best, taking from the seventies bringing it to today and making it better, why can’t all the band’s that give us their take on classic rock/metal music do the same. A breath of fresh air in a way of making music that is plagued by complete lack of imagination. An album I can clearly recommend to each and everyone.
